If you’ve never heard of Gaikai its new cloud-based gaming technology that allows users to play major PC and console games like Call Of Duty or World Of Warcraft instantly, with one click. No download or install required.
Gaikai current allows gamers to try a game before purchase without having to download any files, playing the game directly in their browser window.
The service hope to offer a similar functionality to YouTube in that you will be able to embed links to game demos onto sites similar to the way you embed a YouTube video. Vistiors to the website will then be a able to read a review of the game and then dive straight into actually playing the demo without a lengthy download or patching update.
The new service is currently testing limited game demo’s in its beta release but hopes in the future to offer full games online within any browser. Similar to the already existing Onlive gaming streaming system.
Gaikai is currently in closed beta but you can visit the Gaikai website and ask for an invite if you are interested.\
