A few months back, the folks at Evernote announced that they will introduce two-step verification for its users, after suffering from a security breach earlier this year. Now, the company announced that two-step verification is available for all Evernote users.
I’m a big fan of two-step verification and use it on any service that supports it. So, I’d recommend every Evernote users to enable it as soon as possible. To get started, head over to the security section in your Evernote settings and turn on two-step verification. When you turn it on, it will email you with a security code, which you must enter in the field provided.
After entering, you will be required to enter your phone number where the service sends you a confirmation code. After confirmation, install Google Authenticator on your handset and add the Evernote account. Premium Evernote users can also opt to get the security codes via text messages as well. After enabling, you’ll be given a set of backup codes, which can be used to access your Evernote account in case you lose your handset.
It is strongly recommended that you should enable two-step verification for all the services you use, whether its Gmail or Facebook or any other service.
