EE has announced a new deal with British Telecom that will see all of its mobile customers get free access to BT Sport.
If you are a mobile customer with EE, then you will get six months of free access to the BT Sport app. This offer is available for pay monthly, tablet, and SIM-only customers.
Details of the Offer
From 27 July, EE customers on consumer and small business pay monthly handset, tablet and SIM only plans* will be able to access to all the BT Sport channels on their smartphone or tablet. Sports fans can stream the most anticipated action live, or watch highlights over EE’s award-winning 4G network as well as WiFi whenever they choose.
The BT Sport offer is the first of a series of benefits to be made available to EE customers now that EE is part of BT Group, and the first time that a BT service will be promoted through EE’s retail stores nationwide.
This collaboration between EE and BT is a significant step in enhancing the value proposition for EE customers. By offering free access to BT Sport, EE is not only providing additional entertainment options but also leveraging BT’s extensive sports content to attract and retain customers. This move is particularly beneficial for sports enthusiasts who can now enjoy a wide range of sports content, including live matches, highlights, and exclusive interviews, all on their mobile devices.
How to Access BT Sport
To take advantage of this offer, EE customers need to download the BT Sport app from their respective app stores. Once downloaded, they can log in using their EE credentials to start streaming. The app is compatible with both smartphones and tablets, ensuring that users can enjoy their favorite sports content on the go. This seamless integration of services highlights the synergy between EE and BT, aiming to provide a superior customer experience.
Moreover, this offer is not just limited to individual consumers. Small business customers on EE’s pay monthly plans can also benefit from this deal. This is particularly useful for businesses that want to provide their employees with access to premium sports content, perhaps as a perk or for use in communal areas like break rooms.
Future Benefits and Implications
The BT Sport offer is just the beginning of a series of benefits that EE plans to roll out now that it is part of the BT Group. This integration is expected to bring more such collaborative offers, enhancing the overall value for EE customers. For instance, we might see more bundled services that include broadband, mobile, and entertainment packages, providing a one-stop solution for all digital needs.
Additionally, this move sets a precedent for other telecom operators to explore similar partnerships. By bundling premium content with mobile services, telecom companies can differentiate themselves in a highly competitive market. This strategy not only helps in customer acquisition but also in reducing churn rates, as customers are more likely to stay with a provider that offers added value.
