This small and reasonably priced Doxie scanner was launched this week at the Macworld Expo. As well as the mobility and features you would expect from a scanner, it also comes with Doxie’s cloud service, which allows you to scan pictures and documents and automatically send them to the web with their own URLs for sharing.
It is already compatible with a number of existing sharing portals such as Flickr and Picasa for photos, or Evernote and Google Docs.
Docs and photos are made for sharing, so Doxie makes it easy to post your stuff online, integrating directly with your favorite local and web apps – post directly to Google Docs, Evernote, Flickr, Picnik, Scribd, and more. And the free Doxie’s Cloud service turns your paper into short URLs for instant sharing for e-mails, chats, and tweets – just insert your paper and get a link. It’s that simple
Features and Specifications
The Doxie scanner scans at 600dpi in 24-bit color, ensuring that your documents and photos are captured with high clarity and vibrant colors. This level of detail is perfect for both professional and personal use, whether you’re digitizing old family photos or scanning important business documents. The scanner operates at a speed of 12 seconds per page, making it efficient for quick scanning tasks.
One of the standout features of the Doxie scanner is its simplicity and portability. It only uses one USB cable to connect to your computer and for power, so there are no heavy power adapters to carry around. This makes it an ideal choice for people who need to scan documents on the go, such as business travelers or students.
Integration with Cloud Services
Doxie’s cloud service is a game-changer for those who need to share their scanned documents and photos quickly and easily. Once a document is scanned, it can be automatically uploaded to Doxie’s cloud service, which generates a unique URL for each file. This URL can then be shared via email, chat, or social media, making it incredibly convenient to distribute your scanned items.
The scanner is compatible with several popular sharing portals. For photos, you can upload directly to Flickr and Picasa, making it easy to share your images with friends and family or to store them in an online album. For documents, Doxie integrates seamlessly with Evernote and Google Docs, allowing you to organize and access your files from anywhere.
Additionally, Doxie supports other web apps like Picnik for photo editing and Scribd for document sharing. This wide range of compatibility ensures that no matter what your preferred platform is, Doxie has you covered.
The Doxie Cloud Scanner will be available to purchase in late March for just $129. You can pre-order directly from the Doxie online store.
