Bethesda has released the fourth and final update to its awesome DOOM reboot which launched back in May 2016 and is available to play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC systems, offering both single player and multiplayer options.
The latest update released by Bethesda is free to download and install and brings with it Arcade Mode and Classic Modules. Check out the trailer and details below :
Play every level with all guns, Runes and equipment upgrades fully unlocked. Customize your DOOM Marine’s gear, guns and Praetor suit before each run to see what combinations will give you an edge. Compete against friends and players worldwide for the highest score by attacking demons quickly, avoiding their attacks and grabbing multipliers along the way. This is a perfect opportunity to replay one of the best single-player FPS experiences of 2016, and for the speed runners out there to make their mark. Good luck!
For those long-time fans, Free Update 4 also brings Classic DOOM modules to SnapMap. You’ll now be able to play and build new maps using assets based on the original games. To give fans an easy way to play, the team at id Software decided to create some classic maps for us, so definitely check those out. For the creators out there, we can’t wait to see what you build with these new classic modules. We’ve also made it easier to recommend and review maps that you’ve played. You can even subscribe to creators via the new Snap Feed so you’re always aware of new changes or updates to their maps.
This update also adds two new multiplayer modes to DOOM. Possession mixes things up, adding a Prowlers vs. Marine mode that puts a team of marines up against several player-controlled Prowler demons. Marines who are killed will respawn as Prowlers, putting pressure on the remaining marines. It’s an exciting mode that will force players to think about survival as much as fragging.
The second new mode is Bloodrush, which adds a twist to free-for-all modes by forcing players to manage their Bloodrush meter in order to respawn. Kills and assists add to your meter. The meter drains gradually over time, and drains a lot if you die. The longer the match goes on, the faster your meter will drain until only one player remains.
