Cooler Master has been putting out some of the coolest and best-built computer cases for gamers and enthusiasts for a long time now. The latest offering from the company is a case called the Silencio 550. The case promises to usher in a new era of silent towers. That is a bold claim, as anyone with a case that has several fans knows.
The computers in my office sound like a small jet ready for takeoff some days. The Silencio 550 is black and has a glossy front door that opens and closes. The case is designed to capture most of the sound inside the chassis and keep it from bothering you while you work or play. The case has silencing foam padding and a steel frame with rubber feet.
The cooling system uses a pair of silent spinning fans. Inside the case are seven 3.5″ drive bays and outside are three 5.25″ bays and a single 2.5″ bay for that old floppy drive if you still have one. It has USB 3.0 port on top and holes for an optional water cooling system. Pricing and availability are unannounced at this time.
