Apple unveiled iPhone 5S last month at a press event in Cupertino. The demand of the handset was so high that it was sold out within hours after it went on sale, especially the gold color model. Apple mentioned that the company managed to sell a whopping 9 million units in the opening weekend, although the company didn’t break down the sales figure. It’s still showing a shipment date of 2-3 weeks for almost all the models, and is very hard to find in the retails stores as well. If you’re lucky enough, you may find it at any carrier store, but not the gold one.
If you are waiting for the iPhone 5S stock to arrive, you should know that it won’t in be big quantities, at least for some time, as Apple is planning to launch the handsets in 25 more markets on October 25th. If you are looking for an iPhone 5S and don’t know which store has the handset available near you, check out iPhone 5S Availability Checker.
All you need to do is enter your zip code and select the model you want to buy. It will show you a list of 20 retail stores and tell you whether they have the selected model in stock or not. Even if the handset is available in stock, there’s a high probability that it will sell out by the time you reach the store, so your best bet would be to reserve the unit using the personal pickup service offered by online Apple store. If you can’t find the iPhone 5S in stock in your area, the service also offers email alerts to notify you as soon as the handset is available in stock.
To set up email alerts, just enter your zip code and your email address along with the iPhone 5S model you are interested in. As soon as the 20 stores near you get the stock, you will receive an email.
Unfortunately, the service is only available for US residents.
