Irrational Games the developer of the upcoming BioShock sequel Bioshock Infinite has just announced that their new game will be launching on October 16th 2012 in North America. The BioShock Infinite sequel will be launching internationally on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on October 19, 2012, and is now available to pre-order.
The new Bioshock Infinite games builds on the ideas of American Exceptionalism in the early 20th Century and is set in 1912.
The game’s main protagonist former Pinkerton agent, Booker DeWitt, is sent to the floating air-city of Columbia to seek out a young woman, Elizabeth, who has been held captive there for the last twelve years. Ken Levine creative director and head writer for the Bioshock Infinite game explains:
“After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition,” – “BioShock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it.”
