After first being unveiled at the CES technology show back in 2015, Asus has finally started taking preorders for the new Asus ZenFone Zoom smartphone camera device which is equipped with a 3x optical zoom.
The Asus ZenFone Zoom is fitted with a 13 megapixel sensor and includes optical image stabilisation as well as f/2.7-f/4.8 aperture, 10-element Hoya lens, dual-LED flash and handy laser autofocus.
The smartphone camera is powered by Intel Atom Z3590 SoC 2.5 GHz quad-core processor supported by 4 GB of RAM and includes 64 GB of expandable storage that can be increased using a microSD card. Other features include a 5 megapixel front facing camera as well as support for 4G LTE and a 3,000 mAh battery.
Asus is shipping the new smartphone camera hardware, with Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system installed and if you preorder from B&H Photo today fro $399 you can expect your Asus ZenFone Zoom to start shipping on February 1st, 2016.
