As of next month, if you are lucky enough to own a PlayStation 3, you will be able to enjoy a sneak Beta preview of the new Assassin’s Creed Revelations Multiplayer game. The exclusive Beta will be available to PlayStation Plus and Uplay members and will be available between September 3-8th, after which it will then be opened up to all PS3 owners for Beta testing.
The beta version of Assassin’s Creed Revelations Multiplayer will feature nine characters: The Sentinel, The Vanguard, The Guardian, The Vizier, The Thespian, The Deacon, The Bombardier, The Trickster, and The Champion. Each character brings unique abilities and styles to the game, allowing players to experience a variety of gameplay tactics and strategies. For example, The Sentinel might excel in stealth and surprise attacks, while The Bombardier could be more effective in direct confrontations with explosive abilities.
Maps and Modes
It will be playable across three maps: the Knight’s Hospital, Antioch, and Constantinople. Each map is meticulously designed to reflect the historical and architectural essence of its real-world counterpart, providing an immersive experience for players. The Knight’s Hospital, for instance, offers narrow corridors and hidden passages perfect for ambushes, while Constantinople’s sprawling rooftops and bustling marketplaces provide ample opportunities for parkour and high-speed chases.
The game will feature four different playable modes: Wanted, Manhunt, Deathmatch, and Artifact Assault. In Wanted mode, players must hunt down a specific target while avoiding being hunted themselves. Manhunt mode involves teams taking turns to hide and seek, adding a layer of strategy and teamwork. Deathmatch is a free-for-all where the last player standing wins, and Artifact Assault is a capture-the-flag style mode where players must steal artifacts from the enemy’s base and return them to their own.
Abilities and Progression
Eight abilities are available in the Beta, but only some of them are usable from the outset. Others must be unlocked by increasing your rank. These abilities range from offensive skills like throwing knives and smoke bombs to defensive tactics such as disguise and morph. As players progress and rank up, they can customize their loadouts to better suit their playstyle, whether it be aggressive, defensive, or a balanced mix of both.
For example, a player who prefers stealth might focus on unlocking and upgrading abilities like Disguise, which allows them to blend in with NPCs, or Morph, which changes the appearance of nearby NPCs to confuse pursuers. On the other hand, a more aggressive player might prioritize abilities like Poison, which can silently take out targets, or Firecrackers, which can disorient multiple enemies at once.
At the moment, there has been no mention of Beta treats for Xbox or PC gamers. However, Ubisoft has a history of offering exclusive content and early access to different platforms, so it wouldn’t be surprising if similar opportunities arise for Xbox and PC players in the future.
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations will be released on November 15 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. This installment promises to be one of the most engaging and expansive entries in the series, with a rich single-player campaign that delves deeper into the story of Ezio Auditore and Altair Ibn-La’Ahad, as well as a robust multiplayer component that builds on the success of its predecessors.
