As well as unveiling their new Leica M rangefinder at Photokina 2012 this week, company owner Dr. Andreas Kaufmann also revealed that Apple’s Sir Jonathan Ive, will be assisting Leica to design a limited edition one-of-a-kind Leica M camera.
Only one new Leica M, Sir Jonathan Ive camera will be created and will be auctioned off for charity. With a standard Leica M available to purchase for around $7,000 it will be interesting to see how much Apple fans will pay for a Jony Ive Leica M special.
Unfortunately no other details about the camera were revealed at the event, and we will just have to wait and see what Leica and Apple’s Sir Jonathan Ive come up with.
But one thing you can expect is that the one off Leica M will be expensive to purchase so start saving your pennies now if you are invested in bidding for it. As more information is released we will keep you updated as always.
