Apple has won another case against Samsung, this one is related to the previous case between the two companies where Samsung was found to use certain Apple patents in some of its devices.
The patents related to features on Apple’s iPhone which included slide to unlock, quick links and auto correct, these features were used by Samsung on some of their older Galaxy devices.
Samsung was found guilty of infringing these patents in a trial in May of last year, although an injunction to stop them using the patents was denied at the time.
Out of Samsung’s current devices, they only use one of the features, which is quick links, the other features are used in older devices.
Whether Apple will now be able to seek an injunction against Samsung selling any devices with these features remains to be seen. The new ruling should not affect sales of Samsung’s latest devices and whether Samsung will have to make any changes to their older devices remains to be seen.
