There have been a number of rumors over the last few weeks that sales of the Apple Watch have declined, it turns out that these rumors were incorrect.
Apple has yet to announce any sales figures for the new Apple Watch, although Apple’s CEO Tim Cook did talk about the device during yesterday’s earnings call.
Tim Cook announced that sales of the Apple Watch actually increased in June and were higher than the previous months the device was available.
On the Watch, our June sales were higher than April or May. I realize that’s very different than some of what’s being written, but June sales were the highest. The Watch had a more of a back-ended kind of skewing.
Sales of the Apple Watch were actually higher than that of the original iPhone and iPad in their first nine weeks of availability, this was confirmed to the New York Times by Apple CFO Luca Maestri.
Apple are expecting strong sales of their smartwatch for the rest of the year, the device could be popular during the holiday shopping season.
There are no details as yet on when Apple will actually tell us how many units of their smartwatch they have sold, we may have to wait a while to get some actual, numbers.
