The Apple TV+ streaming service launched today and it you have recently purchased a new Apple device then you will get a free 12 month subscription to the service.
It looks like the free 12 month subscription is not working for everyone, some people who have recently purchased a new device are not getting the option for a free 12 month subscription.
If you have purchased a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Mac since the 10th of September 2019 then you are eligible for the free 12 month subscription.
I myself have experienced the issue where I should be able to sign up for a free subscription for a year but am not being given the option, instead I am given the option to sign up for a seven day free trial.
It is not clear as yet on exactly what the issue is, Apple are getting back to me later today and as soon as I get more details on what the problem is I will let you guys know. If you have experienced this issue, leave a comment below and let us know. It may also be worth you contacting Apple Support to see if they can resolve the issue for you.

If you have had this problem there is a solution. What you need to do is go to https://tv.apple.com/ via a browser and then sign in using your Apple account. You will then be able to activate your 1 year subscription from Apple’s website and it should update on your device.
