The Apple Beats Audio deal has yet to be officially confirmed by Apple, although it was confirmed last week by Beats Audio co-founder Dr Dre, who was featured on a video confirming he was the first hip hop billionaire.
The purchase of Beats Audio by Apple has left many people puzzled about why Apple would buy the company for $3.2 billion, although according to a recent report, the deal is about music streaming, and not hardware.
According to Bloomberg, Apple wanted Beats Audio for its Beats Music service, Apple has apparently been impressed at the rate the company was converting its free trial members into paid subscribers.
This does not mean that Apple will be ditching the Beats Audio hardware, instead Apple will work to improve the quality of the hardware and also improve future designs.
We heard earlier today, that both the co-founder of Beats, Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine will be joining Apple in senior roles, although like the deal, this has yet to be confirmed by Apple.
