According to an article in The Times this week, Amazon is preparing to launch its Amazon grocery delivery service within the UK very soon.The
Amazon Fresh as the service is known in the US where the Amazon online grocery delivery service has already launched, in Northern and Southern California, Seattle, New York, Philadelphia and parts of northern New Jersey.
AmazonFresh offers grocery items for sale, as well as a subset of items from the main Amazon.com storefront. Items ordered through AmazonFresh are available for home delivery on the same day or the next day, depending on the time of the order and the availability of trucks.
AmazonFresh initially offered home grocery delivery to residents of the Seattle suburb of Mercer Island in an invitation-only beta test in August 2007 and allows users to order groceries from Amazon for delivery that day or the day afterwards.
