The Acer Iconia W510 comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display, plus a detachable keyboard dock that also features a built-in battery to give the tablet extra power.
Acer presents two of its newest Windows® 8 tablets at Computex Taipei. The ICONIA W510 evolves the computing experience with three different modes of touchscreen operation, while the ICONIA W700 is the best-performing Windows 8 tablet with the added versatility of a cradle. Both designed to set new standards in ergonomics and user-friendliness.
Detailed Features of Acer Iconia W700
The Acer Iconia W700 is designed to be a powerhouse in the tablet market. Its 11.6-inch full HD touchscreen display ensures that users get a crisp and clear viewing experience, making it ideal for both professional and entertainment purposes. The high resolution of 1920 x 800 pixels means that images and videos are rendered in stunning detail, providing an immersive experience.
One of the standout features of the W700 is its versatility. It comes with a cradle that allows the tablet to be used in various positions, enhancing its ergonomic design. This cradle can be adjusted to different angles, making it convenient for tasks such as typing, watching videos, or even giving presentations. The W700 is also expected to come with a range of connectivity options, including USB ports, HDMI output, and possibly even Thunderbolt support, making it a versatile device for various peripherals.
Innovative Design of Acer Iconia W510
The Acer Iconia W510, on the other hand, is designed with portability and flexibility in mind. Its 10.1-inch touchscreen display is slightly smaller than the W700, but it still offers a vibrant and responsive interface. The detachable keyboard dock is one of the most innovative features of the W510. This dock not only provides a physical keyboard for more traditional typing tasks but also includes a built-in battery that extends the tablet’s battery life. This makes the W510 an excellent choice for users who need a device that can last through long workdays or travel without frequent recharging.
The W510 also boasts three different modes of operation: tablet mode, productivity mode, and presentation mode. In tablet mode, the device functions as a standard touchscreen tablet, perfect for browsing the web, reading, or casual gaming. In productivity mode, the keyboard dock transforms the tablet into a mini-laptop, ideal for typing documents or emails. Presentation mode allows the screen to be rotated 295 degrees, making it perfect for showing slideshows or videos to a group.
Acer has yet to reveal the full specifications for both Windows 8 tablets. However, it is expected that both devices will feature the latest in processing power, possibly including Intel’s latest processors, ample RAM, and storage options to cater to different user needs. Additionally, both tablets are likely to come with a suite of pre-installed Windows 8 applications, enhancing their functionality right out of the box.
