Xiaomi flash sales have been quite successful not just in China, but in India too. The company sold out the Xiaomi in just a few seconds in the past few weeks.
Earlier today, Xiaomi had another flash sale where 40,000 units of the Xiaomi Redmi 1S went on sale. Surprisingly, it had the same outcome. Hugo Barra announced via Twitter that 40,000 Xiaomi Redmi 1S units sold out in just 4.2 seconds on Flipkart.
This is yet another achievement for the Chinese OEM, and it makes sense since the device in question comes with a decent set of specifications for just Rs 5,999 (almost $98).
Xiaomi Redmi 1S offers a 4.7-inch display sporting a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels with a quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC with Adreno 305 handling graphics on the device. There’s 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage with a microSD card slot, 8MP camera for photos and videos, a 1.6MP front-facing camera, a 2,000 mAh battery and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean as its operating system with the company’s MIUI on top of it.
The company has been expanding its global presence with India, Russia and Brazil being in the first three countries. The company has received its fair share of success in India, and it would be interesting to see how it performs when it offers its products in other markets.
