Nike has long been offering its Nike+ branding to fitness enthusiasts, especially those who love to run. There’s no reason for those into basketball to be left out and Nike will soon come out with Nike+ Basketball. There’s also Nike+ Training for those looking for a more enhanced workout routine.

The two new Nike platforms will connect to digitally enabled footwear and feed data to an app installed on a compatible iPhone and iPod Touch. Nike+ Basketball will be able to track down how high, how hard and how quick players are on the hardcourt.
Nike+ Training seeks to combine the appeal of gaming with high intensity fitness routine. Nike is using what it calls Nike+ Pressure Sensor, which is capable of getting a more accurate account of the movement and speed of the user.
Merging digital technology in the field of sports is nothing new, but with the use of sophisticated sensors like that of Nike+, it opens up a whole new field to explore and give users a more accurate and detailed way to track down and record their workout regimen.
