Brad Linder from the Liliputing website has published a great first look and hands-on review of the new Zotac ZBOX CI660 nano mini PC which is now available to purchase in a variety of different configurations. First unveiled during CES 2018 back in January of this year the barebones mini PC system comes equipped with a 15 watt Intel Core i7-8550U quad-core processor but you will need to provide your own RAM, storage and operating system.
– 8th Gen Intel Core i7 Processor
– All-new design with more powerful passive cooling
– The most breathable design yet
– Up to 32GB DDR4 so-dimm memory support
– 4K @ 60 Hz, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2
– VESA Mount Ready
Connectivity is also integrated offering both Bluetooth 4.2 and wireless 802.11ac support and the mini PC system supports up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM and offers a 2.5 inch SATA 6.0 Gbps connector to install internal storage the form of a solid state drive (SSD) or hard disks drive depending on your requirements and budget. Brad explains a little more about the performance you can expect from the system :
“Performance will probably vary depending on the memory, storage, and operating system you choose — but 16GB of DDR4-2666 RAM and 240GB of storage should be more than sufficient for the blogging and audio editing I plan to use this computer for. It should also allow the system to work as a media center, a home network file server capable of running silently 24/7, or for a variety of other purposes.”
