Following in the footsteps of next generation thermostats such as Nest which was recently purchased by Google, a new smart thermostat called ZEN has been created and launched over on the Indiegogo crowd funding website.
ZEN has been created to be an open system using Wi‐Fi or ZigBee and works with smart home systems such as the newly launched Apple HomeKit and is planning to be OpenHome Certified.
Once the ZEN is OpenHome Certified the smart thermostat will seamlessly work with other OpenHome devices enabling home owners to access scheduling and energy saving applications if they choose.
The ZEN smart thermostat project is currently over on the Indiegogo crowd funding website looking to raise $50,000 in pledges to make the jump from concept to production. Its creators explain a little more.
“You can connect up to 5 Zen WiFi thermostats on your home network, giving you the control you need over the temperature in all parts of your home. Zen fits beautifully into your home or office environment.
The LED screen provides clear and simple feedback, icons only display when they are required.
Available in black or white, Zen blends seamlessly into your existing interior design. Comfort doesn’t have to be complicated. Thats why we’ve designed Zen and the smartphone app to make it easy to stay in control of your home heating and cooling.”
So if you think ZEN is something you could benefit from with its Apple HomeKit support, visit the Indiegogo website now to make a pledge and help ZEN become a reality and be one of the very first to own one.
