In the past, creating 3D video used to require specialized equipment, but as of today, YouTube allows you to create it by selecting “Edit Info,” then “3D Video” on a video you’ve uploaded.
The new 2D to 3D converter is currently under beta development, so expect a few changes as YouTube tweaks the performance and results of the new 3D conversion tool.
YouTube explains:
“We are launching 2D to 3D conversion. Once people have uploaded their 2D videos to YouTube, they can convert them to 3D with the click of a button. Converted videos will be viewable by everyone in 3D,”
