If you’re using WhatsApp for Android, there’s a good news for you. The application has received an update, bumping it to version v2.11.169, with new privacy settings, but there’s catch here, the update is available on WhatsApp website and is not currently available in the Google Play Store, but it should be in some time.
In addition, it also brings another feature, which is not currently available for iOS version, that give users the ability to hide the profile photo and status message.
Now, the app allows you select the people who can see your ‘Last seen’, profile photo and status message. You have the option to set it as everyone, my contacts or no one.
The update also brings several other features on board, including improved mute functionality, ability to pay for a friend for his/her WhatsApp subscription for one, three or five years and pay it using Google Wallet, PayPal or any other linked payment method, and lastly, the removal of notification options for broadcast messages. Obviously, you can still send broadcast messages.
The updated version of WhatsApp is not yet available in the Google Play Store, but you can download the APK file from the official website and install it on your device.
