The first VOIP application for the Palm Pre has just been announced by VOXOFON and then set to be released later in the year. The new application will allow users to make low-cost international calls from 1.3 cents per minute.
You will pay your operator for a call to a local access number or for receiving a call. The app will use 1-2 KB of internet data for call setup. If you have unlimited data and/or free minutes you will not pay anything extra.
Your Voxofon account will be charged for the international part of call (from 1.3 c/min). The exact Voxofon rates for the call will be displayed before your call is placed.
After you complete a free sign up you are given $0.50 credit to try out the services.
