Not too long ago, Verizon confirmed that it will support Samsung’s new mobile payment solution, Samsung Pay, which should reach devices in the form of an update.
If you’re a Verizon customer in possession of some of the newest Galaxy devices, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6+, Note 5, and Galaxy S6 Edge+, you should keep an eye on the updates on your smartphone. Verizon is rolling out an update for the devices, which brings support for Samsung Pay, as well as the fixes for the Stagefright vulnerability.
After the software update is complete, users will be able to download the Samsung Pay app from the Google Play store and start using the service. However, you have to make sure that the credit card you’re using is compatible with the service.
At the moment, cards from five banking institutions, including American Express, Bank of America, Citi Bank, U.S. Bank and Synchrony Financial, work with Samsung Pay. However, the company hopes to add more banks to the support list in the future. So, if you’re bank is not listed in the supported list, you will have to wait for some time, or just rely on the traditional payment methods.
