Connectivity and Multimedia Features
The connectivity options on the Palm Eos are quite comprehensive for its time. Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR ensures that users can connect to a variety of wireless accessories, such as headphones and speakers, while the USB 2.0 via micro USB allows for easy data transfer and charging. The removable 1150 mAh battery provides up to 4 hours of 3G talk time, which is decent for a device of this size.
Messaging capabilities include SMS, MMS (for pictures and videos), and an integrated IM client, making it easy to stay in touch with friends and family. The contact sync feature with AT&T Address Book ensures that users can easily manage their contacts.
For multimedia enthusiasts, the Palm Eos supports a range of audio formats, including WAV, MP3, AAC, and AAC+ ringtones. Video playback capabilities include MPEG4, H.264, and H.263, allowing users to enjoy their favorite videos on the go.
The Palm Eos also comes with A-GPS for navigation and location-based services, making it a handy device for travelers and commuters. Email support for POP3, IMAP4, and EAS ensures that users can stay connected to their work and personal emails.
It also looks like the Palm Eos will be coming to AT&T, who currently have the Apple iPhone in the US. This partnership with AT&T could provide the Palm Eos with a significant boost in terms of network support and customer reach.
