Some rumors hinted that the much-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat will roll out sometime in August, and now that we’re almost at the end of the third week, there’s some news about its roll out.
Canadian carrier TELUS recently updated their software update support page and revealed that Google Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X will get the Android 7.0 Nougat Update on August 22nd.
Details on the Rollout
The date is mentioned on the company’s support page, but it’s worth mentioning that this is not set in stone, and it’s possible that it may get delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. We’re hoping it happens on the above-mentioned date, but don’t keep your hopes too high. Software rollouts can often be delayed due to last-minute bugs or other technical issues that need to be resolved to ensure a smooth update process.
Several manufacturers have already confirmed that their flagship devices are going to get the Android 7.0 Nougat update soon, but none of them gave an exact timeframe on when the customers can expect the new operating system to land on their devices. For instance, companies like Samsung, LG, and HTC have all indicated that their latest models will receive the update, but specific dates have not been provided.
What to Expect from Android 7.0 Nougat
Android 7.0 Nougat brings a host of new features and improvements over its predecessor. One of the most anticipated features is the multi-window support, which allows users to run two apps side by side. This is particularly useful for multitasking on larger screens, such as tablets and phablets. Additionally, Nougat introduces a more efficient notification system, allowing users to reply directly from the notification shade without opening the app.
Another significant improvement is the enhanced Doze mode, which helps in conserving battery life by putting the device into a low-power state when it’s not in use. This feature was first introduced in Android 6.0 Marshmallow but has been further refined in Nougat to activate even when the device is in motion, such as when it’s in your pocket or bag.
The update also includes support for Vulkan, a new 3D rendering API that promises to deliver better gaming performance and more detailed graphics. This is a boon for mobile gamers who are looking for a more immersive experience on their devices.
Moreover, Nougat brings improvements to the overall system performance and security. The new Direct Boot feature ensures that the device starts up faster, and file-based encryption adds an extra layer of security to protect user data. Google has also made it easier for users to manage their data usage with the new Data Saver mode, which restricts background data usage to help users stay within their data limits.
We’ll update you as soon as we get to hear anything more about the roll out. Stay tuned.
