Things are not looking too good for the colorful iPhone 5C. The majority of retailers in the U.S. are offering the handset on a discounted price including Best Buy, Radioshack, Walmart, and we all know the reason for that. It wasn’t as successful as Apple predicted to be, mainly because of its high price in the market. The handset retails for a whopping $549 for the unlocked version, which is $100 less than the upgraded iPhone 5S. Reportedly, Apple also reduced the iPhone 5C production orders by half. Apparently, it was designed for the emerging markets, but the demand is not very high there as well. Take the case of China, the handset is being sold for a price way below its official price of 4,488 yuan.
Now, following other US retailers, Target is also offering the iPhone 5C at discounted price of $49.99 with a two-year contract with a carrier of your choice. Additionally, Target RED cardholders can get the price down by a further 5 percent.
Previously, Target was offering the handset for $79.99 with a two-year contract , which was already below the official price of $99 on-contract. Now, it further reduces the price by $30 and users who wish to make use of the promotion can visit Target Mobile centers across more than 1,500 Target stores in the US. Obviously, you have to sign up for a two-year contract with any supported carrier. Furthermore, Target RED cardholders can get a further discount of five percent that brings the price down to $47.50.
Now, this is a good deal, but the folks at Walmart are still offering a better deal as iPhone 5C is available for just $45 with a contract while Radioshack is offering a $50 discount card with every iPhone 5C purchase.
Are you going to get the new iPhone 5C since its price is reduced by almost a half?
