Following on from earlier announcements made by Sony, for the launch of their new 4K Media Player, the FMP-X1, and also professional OLED Ultra HDTVs.
Sony has also unveiled today prices for its Sony 4K Ultra HD LED TVs in the form of the 55 and 65 inch systems, which were first unveiled back in CES earlier this year.
The new Sony 4K Ultra HD LED TVs sets feature our-times that of Full HD TV offering a resolution of 3840 x 2160, together with Sony’s proprietary two-chip 4K X-Reality PRO picture engine. Mike Lucas, senior vice president, Sony Electronics Home Division explains:
“These new models will be arriving in homes just before the summer and are sure to bring the enhanced viewing experience of 4K TV to a whole new audience,”-“Our TVs deliver a vibrant and natural picture that is four-times clearer than high definition. As for content, these new sets enhance all of the video people are watching today, and this summer our 4K media player, followed in fall by the video distribution service will demonstrate how Sony continues to lead in bringing the 4K entertainment experience to viewers.”
The new Sony XBR-55X900A 55-inch and Sony XBR-65X900A 65-inch 4K Ultra HD LED TVs will cost $4,999 and $6,999 respectively, the Sony 4K Ultra HD LED TVs will be available to order online from April 21st, 2013.
