We have been hearing more and more rumors about the Samsung Galaxy X smartphone recently, the handset is expected to launch next year. Last week we heard that Samsung may showcase their new foldable smartphone at CES 2018 in January.
Now some sketches of the handset have been leaked, these sketches come from a recent patent filing for the Samsung Galaxy X. Samsung recently filed a patent for the handset with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The filing was done recently on the 5th of December 2017.
The sketches for the new Galaxy X foldable smartphone can be seen below, these were taken from the recent patent filing with the USPTO .
As we can see from the sketches there is no home button on the front of the Samsung Galaxy X, Samsung could use facial recognition on this handset for unlocking the device.What is interesting is that the handset appears to fold vertically rather than horizontally.
We heard recently that Samsung were working on a new version of their facial recognition for their Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus handsets, this is something they could also include in the Galaxy X smartphone
The new Galaxy X is launching in 2018, this is something that Samsung confirmed previously. With the device recently appearing on Samsung’s support website, we suspect that we will be seeing the new device at CES in January. As soon as we get some more details on the new Galaxy X, including a list of specifications on the handset, we will let you guys know.
