Adding to the ever growing external graphics dock market Sapphire has this week unveiled their new external graphics card enclosure which is also powered by a Thunderbolt 3 connection.
Sapphire has designed the external graphics card housing to deliver the extra processing power via the single Thunderbolt 3 port offering up to 40 Gb/s connections, dual 4K @ 60Hz support, charging capabilities, and support for the USB and DisplayPort interfaces.
The casing is finished in black-and-white with a blue LED strip across the front centre of the case which complements the overall design. Unfortunately once again no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet by Sapphire, but as soon as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always.
The Tech Power Up Team at Computex 2017 explain more :
The unit makes use of what appears to be a SFF PSU (it isn’t clear whether or not a PSU comes bundled with the chassis), and space for a dual-slot high performance graphics card. The side of the enclosure presents an airflow-enabling grill, so that your graphics card can pull in fresh air from the exterior. There’s also what seems to be an Ethernet port and 2x USB 3.0 ports, which means this enclosure can be used as a hub, or as an extra charger for your other pieces of tech.
