The last thing we heard about the first Samsung Tizen smartphone, is that the device is apparently being tested by various mobile carriers in south Korea.
According to a recent report, the first Samsung Tizen smartphone will be announced at Mobile World Congress 2013 in February, as yet there are no details on which device Samsung will announce at MWC.
The majority of the smartphones that Samsung sells at the moment are its Galaxy range of devices, which run Google’s Android OS, although this is something that Samsung is looking to change in the future.
We heard previously that the user interface on the Samsung Tizen phones is very similar to the one they use on their Android devices, this is a smart move by Samsung.
It already has a wide customer base of Android users who own it Galaxy smartphones, and by using a very similar UI for Tizen, Samsung will be able to introduce these customers to Tizen devices with an instantly recognizable user interface,
Samsung has wider plans for Tizen than just smartphones, we also heard that the company intends to launch a at CES in January, and we may also see other devices as well.
