It looks like there is another new Android device headed to US mobile carrier AT&T, the Samsung Rugby Smart, which is reported to be a budget Android device.
The Samsung Rugby Smart is expected to retail for around the $100 mark when it lands on AT&T, although we suspect this will be the price when you sign up to a new two year contract with the carrier.
As yet we don’t have a lot of information about the devices specifications, what we do know is that it will feature a WVGA multi-touch display, and will come with 512MB of RAM, Android Gingerbread and a 1,650 mAh battery.
Expected Features and Specifications
The Samsung Rugby Smart is designed to be a rugged and durable device, making it ideal for users who need a phone that can withstand tough conditions. The WVGA multi-touch display is expected to be around 3.7 inches, providing a decent screen size for a budget device. The 512MB of RAM should be sufficient for basic tasks and light multitasking, although it may struggle with more demanding applications.
Running on Android Gingerbread, the Rugby Smart will have access to a wide range of apps and services through the Google Play Store. The 1,650 mAh battery should offer a reasonable amount of usage time, although heavy users may find themselves needing to recharge more frequently.
