Samsung Gear S was launched in September, and has gained some traction due to support for 3G connectivity. This means the smartwatch can be used as a standalone device for communication.
If you’re based in Canada and want to get the Samsung Gear S, you be glad to know it’s now available in the region for a hefty $399 price tag. Currently, the smartwatch is only available through Samsung retail store.
Samsung also confirmed the Gear S smartwatch will be available at the company’s stores within Best Buy and Future Shop. There’s no word about the pricing and availability from various carriers in the region, but it should be available in the coming weeks. It’s likely that carriers will offer their own pricing plans for the smartwatch, similar to what some carriers have done in other global markets.
Samsung Gear S comes with a 2-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 360×480 resolution, a dual-core 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage. The smartwatch also features IP67 certification which makes it dust and water resistant, 3G connectivity, a 300 mAh battery, WiFi, Bluetooth, and runs Tizen as its operating system out of the box.
