We have been hearing more and more rumors about the new foldable smartphone from Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy X. The handset recently appeared on Samsung’s website and with the model number SM-G888NO, this suggested that the device is coming soon.
According to a recent report, the new Samsung Galaxy X will be launching next year, this is a rumor we have heard about previously. Samsung confirmed this back in September when their president of Samsung’s IM Division, Ko Dong-jin announced that “We aim to launch a foldable smartphone next year.”.
Exactly when Samsung plans the handset next year remains to be seen, although the recent appearance of the handset on Samsung’s support website suggests that the launch is coming sooner rather than later.
There is a possibility that we will see the new Samsung Galaxy X smartphone at Mobile Wold Congress in February. Samsung is also rumored to launch its new flagships, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus at the event.
LG are rumored to be working on a foldable handset, the company has been working on a number of foldable display for smartphones for a while now. This is apparently one of the reasons on why Samsung is looking to launch their new smartphone next year. ZTE also recently launched their foldable device, the ZTE Axon M.
