Samsung has announced the launched of its latest rugged Android tablet in the US, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active2. The tablet is equipped with an 8 inch display that features a WXGA resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and it is powered by an octa core Samsung Exynos 7870 processor.
The device comes with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of included storage, if you need some more storage then the tablet comes with a microSD card slot which supports up to 256 GB cards. The tablet features a 4,450 mAh battery that is user replaceable. The device comes with Android 7.1 Nougat.
Connectivity on the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active2 is in the form of 4G LTE and 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac WiFi, it also comes with WiFi Direct, NFC and Bluetooth 4.2. As this is a rugged device it comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and it features and anti-shock cover and conforms to the MIL-STD-810G standard.
The tablet also comes with a rugged version of the Samsung S Pen, the device as an IP68 rating. In terms of security it features Samsung’s Knox 2.8 security software.
