Samsung Unpacked 5 event will take place on Monday, February 24th. While everyone of us is too excited about the upcoming Galaxy S5, Samsung is expected to launch a few more products at the event, specifically in the wearables category.
According to a new rumor from Korean shores, the Korean manufacturer is expected to launch Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit alongside the highly rumored Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Gear 2 at their event in Barcelona.
According to the report, the Galaxy Gear Fit will measure health-related metrics and will come with a pedometer to track the steps taken and other physical activities as well as monitor the number of hours slept. The health-oriented wearable will compete with the likes of Fitbit, Jawbone and others which are currently selling pretty well in the market.
This is not the first time we’re heard about a wearable device from Samsung that will come with health-related features. The a similar report emerged in December last year, which mention Samsung will unveil such a device at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The report also claims that Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit will let go of the camera, which can help the company reduce it’s price.
