The Samsung Galaxy A6 launched in Europe last month and now it looks like it is headed to the US. According to Evan Blass, the handset will be launching with AT&T in the US. It is not clear as yet whether the new A6 Plus will also be available.
Display and Design
As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy A6 comes with a 5.6-inch display with an HD+ resolution of 1480 x 720 pixels. This screen size and resolution make it a comfortable device for everyday use, offering a good balance between screen real estate and portability. The Super AMOLED display technology ensures vibrant colors and deep blacks, making it ideal for media consumption such as watching videos and playing games.
The design of the Galaxy A6 is sleek and modern, featuring a metal unibody that gives it a premium feel. The device is available in several colors, including Black, Gold, Blue, and Lavender, allowing users to choose a variant that best suits their style.
Performance and Storage
Other specifications include an octa-core 1.6GHz processor, which provides adequate performance for most tasks. Whether you’re browsing the web, using social media apps, or playing casual games, the Galaxy A6 handles it all with ease. The device comes with a choice of 3GB or 4GB of RAM, which ensures smooth multitasking and better performance when switching between apps.
In terms of storage, the Galaxy A6 offers two options: 32GB and 64GB. Both variants come with a microSD card slot, allowing users to expand the storage up to 256GB. This is particularly useful for those who need extra space for photos, videos, and other media files.
Camera Capabilities
The Galaxy A6 has a front-facing 16-megapixel camera for selfies, which is equipped with an LED flash to help capture clear photos even in low-light conditions. This makes it a great choice for selfie enthusiasts who want to capture high-quality images for social media.
On the back, there is a 16-megapixel camera for photos and videos. The rear camera also features an LED flash and supports various modes such as panorama, HDR, and Pro mode, allowing users to take professional-looking photos with ease. The camera’s performance is commendable, producing sharp and vibrant images in different lighting conditions.
Additional Features and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy A6 also includes several additional features that enhance the user experience. It comes with a fingerprint sensor located on the back for quick and secure unlocking. The device also supports facial recognition, providing an alternative method for unlocking the phone.
In terms of software, the Galaxy A6 runs on Samsung Experience UI based on Android, offering a user-friendly interface with various customization options. The device also includes Samsung’s suite of apps and services, such as Samsung Health, Samsung Pay, and Bixby, adding more value to the overall package.
As yet, there are no details on when the handset will be available with AT&T. However, given the popularity of Samsung devices in the US, it is expected to be well-received by consumers. The addition of the Galaxy A6 to AT&T’s lineup will provide customers with another mid-range option that offers a good balance of performance, features, and price.
