Features and Enhancements in Android Marshmallow
Android Marshmallow, also known as Android 6.0, brings a host of new features and improvements over its predecessor, Android Lollipop. One of the most notable features is the introduction of “Doze Mode,” which significantly improves battery life by putting the device into a deeper sleep state when it’s not being used. This is particularly beneficial for users who often find their battery draining quickly.
Another major enhancement is the new app permissions model. Unlike previous versions, Android Marshmallow allows users to grant or deny permissions to apps on a case-by-case basis. This means you can now control what data and features an app can access, enhancing your privacy and security.
Google Now on Tap is another exciting feature that provides contextual information based on the content currently displayed on your screen. For example, if you’re reading an article about a movie, you can long-press the home button to get more information about the movie, including reviews, trailers, and showtimes.
Fingerprint support is also natively integrated into Android Marshmallow, making it easier for manufacturers to include fingerprint sensors in their devices. This feature not only enhances security but also simplifies tasks like unlocking your phone and authorizing payments.
Additionally, Android Marshmallow introduces a new memory manager that gives users detailed information about the memory usage of their apps. This can help you identify apps that are consuming too much memory and potentially slowing down your device.
As soon as we get some more information on exactly when Samsung will start releasing the Android 6.0 update for its handsets, we will let you guys know.
