Samsung has announced that it is launching a new range of high-end soundbars in collaboration with Harman Kardon. The company is introducing two new models: the HW-N950 and the HW-N850. These soundbars are designed to deliver an exceptional audio experience, combining Samsung’s cutting-edge technology with Harman Kardon’s renowned audio expertise.
Both of these new premium soundbars will be available from the 20th of August. As of now, no pricing information has been revealed, but given the high-end nature of these products, they are expected to be positioned in the premium segment of the market.
Features and Specifications
The HW-N950 and HW-N850 soundbars come packed with features that are aimed at providing an immersive audio experience. The HW-N950, for instance, boasts a 7.1.4 channel configuration, which includes four upward-firing and two side-firing speakers. This setup is designed to deliver a more enveloping soundstage, making it ideal for home theater enthusiasts. The HW-N850, on the other hand, features a 5.1.2 channel configuration, which still offers a robust and immersive audio experience but at a slightly lower price point.
Both models support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, two of the most advanced audio technologies available today. These technologies allow sound to move freely around the room, creating a 3D audio experience that is more lifelike and engaging. Additionally, the soundbars come with wireless subwoofers and rear speakers, making it easier to set up a complete surround sound system without the hassle of running wires across the room.
Design and Build Quality
In terms of design, both the HW-N950 and HW-N850 feature a sleek and modern aesthetic that will complement any home decor. The soundbars are constructed from high-quality materials, ensuring durability and a premium feel. The minimalist design is not only visually appealing but also functional, as it allows the soundbars to blend seamlessly into any living space.
Dave Rogers, President of Consumer Audio at HARMAN, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Samsung is the world leader in soundbars and we are extremely proud that they are enlisting HARMAN to enhance their audio quality and play a key role in growing their premium soundbar business. Partnering with Samsung, one of the most admired brands in the world, will broaden the reach and appeal of Harman Kardon and help us build our business in other consumer and car audio branded solutions. Introducing the new co-branded Samsung Harman Kardon premium soundbars is a win for Samsung, HARMAN and consumers, who now will have the best of video, sound and design altogether in one striking package.”
Additional Features and Connectivity
Both soundbars come equipped with a range of connectivity options, including HDMI inputs and outputs, optical inputs, and Bluetooth. This makes it easy to connect the soundbars to a variety of devices, such as TVs, gaming consoles, and smartphones. The inclusion of Bluetooth also allows for wireless streaming of music from compatible devices, adding another layer of convenience.
Moreover, the soundbars are compatible with Samsung’s SmartThings app, which allows users to control their audio settings and integrate the soundbars into their smart home ecosystem. This level of integration makes it easier to manage all your connected devices from a single interface, enhancing the overall user experience.
