Microsoft is facing trouble getting rid of its Surface RT tablet inventory, and has reduced its price several times in the past. A new report suggests that Microsoft Surface RT bundle – that includes Surface RT tablet and black Touch Cover Keyboard – will see a price reduction starting 30 August. The report surfaces from WPCentral who claims that Microsoft Surface RT bundle price will fall by $50 on August 30 – in Microsoft and online stores.
Reportedly, Microsoft will cut the price of the Touch Cover separately by $40 from $119.99 to $79.99. The price is applicable to all five colors and will begin of 30 August, and will reflect the price reduction the Surface RT bundles as well.
Currently, the Surface RT bundle with 32GB tablet is available for $449 while customers can buy the 64GB tablet bundle for $549. Starting 30 August, the price of the 32GB and 64GB tablet bundle will fall to $399 and $499, respectively. Also note that the price reduction is permanent, and offers customers a saving of $50. While customers don’t have the option to choose a color of their choice with the Surface RT bundle, but even if they decide to buy the tablet and the cover separately, they will still save $30 – if the rumors about the price reduction are correct.
There are no official news from the Redmond giant about these reports, but if its true, we should see an announcement in the next few days.
