BBM for Android and iOS received many rumored release dates in the past few weeks. Many rumors said that the application will hit the respective App stores in summer, followed by an expected announcement in September as revealed by a Blackberry executive. Now, a new rumor suggests that BBM for Android and iOS will be announced on September 20th at a press event in Jakarta, with the app going live on Google Play Store this Friday.
According to this new rumor, BBM for iOS will go live on Google Play Store on September 20th followed by iOS launch on September 21st worldwide. The folks at TeknoUp also received an invite for the event in Jakarta where the company is rumored to launch the much-awaited Blackberry Messenger.
The folks at Crackberry also received several emails confirming that the above-mentioned date is correct.
According to Crackberry,
– Friday, Sept 20th, 7am EST: Android version published on Google Play
– Friday, Sept 20th, 7am EST: BBM.com goes live
– Friday, Sept 20th, 7am EST: CRM messages sent out to pre-registrants
– Friday, Sept 20th, 7am EST: Follow-up CRM message sent out after full App Store deployment
– Saturday, Sept 21st: BBM on iOS becomes available 12:01am EST in local time zones.
