A new mini PC and Raspberry Pi alternative in the form of the Rock Pi X has launched this week with prices starting from just $39 for 1 GB of RAM. Two different models are available both featuring an Intel Atom x5-Z8300 processor supported by up to 4 GB of RAM. The Rock Pi X Model can’t be is equipped with optional support for a Power over Ethernet HAT and connectivity via 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2. The more affordable Rock Pi X Model A has no wireless connectivity but is equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet port.

Other features include HDMI 1.4, USB 3.0, 2 x USB 2.0, USB Type-C OTG port, and a 40-pin connector making it a suitable Raspberry Pi alternative capable of supporting a variety of different operating systems including Windows 10 thanks to its Intel processor. Although Android, Ubuntu 18.04 and other Linux distributions can also be run.
