A new extended movie trailer has been released for the upcoming film, Ready Player One, that will be premiering on theatre screens worldwide from March 30th, 2018. The latest Ready Player One trailer released by Warner Bros. Pictures includes commentary from director Steven Spielberg who has created the science fiction adventure based on Ernest Cline’s bestseller of the same name. Check out the latest trailer below to learn more about what you can expect from the film that is set in 2045 as the world is on the brink of chaos and collapse, and where the Earth’s population find salvation in a virtual reality world called the Oasis.
The Oasis takes the form of an expansive virtual reality universe created by the eccentric developer and designer James Halliday played by actor Mark Rylance. When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune in a digital Easter egg, hidden somewhere within the immense virtual world, creating a contest that grips the world, and they race to solve the clues to find the prize.
When Wade Watts played by Tye Sheridan, decides to join the virtual reality contest, he is hurled into a “breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger”. Steve Spielberg directs the film from a screenplay written by Zak Penn and Ernest Cline.
