Well, Sony, at least you can console yourself that it wasn’t an attack by Anonymous that put your PSN out of business. Or at least, not that anyone knows of yet. Because the truth is Sony don’t really have any clue what is causing the outage at the moment. Which also means they sort of pulled that 48 hour estimate out of thin air.
“While we are investigating the cause of the Network outage, we wanted to alert you that it may be a full day or two before we’re able to get the service completely back up and running,” according to a warning on the PlayStation Blog. “Thank you very much for your patience while we work to resolve this matter. Please stay tuned to this space for more details, and we’ll update you again as soon as we can.” On the bright side, at least you’re not paying for the thing, like you would for Xbox Live. Then again, Xbox Live is up and running right now.
