What do you get when you put together an automatic [non-lethal] weapon and a 4×4 RC? A very dangerous weapons platform is what. But hold on, what’s pictured down south isn’t exactly lethal even if it looks the part. It’s just a DIY paintball gun project that’s looking for cash in Kickstarter.
The money needed is a lot more frightening though. To see the project through, Mr. Inventor needs $15,000. Ouchies!
Here’s a good chunk of text from the killer machine’s Kickstarter page:
“If the project is fully funded, I would probably buy a vertical mill to cut out the parts. I have been making all the parts by hand, using modified woodworking tools and a home-made vacuum former. It is very labor intensive and time consuming. I would also acquire a shop space, which is wider than 7ft, my current shop size, (in my basement) to accommodate the new equipment and project.”
Why so much dough? First, he needs a vertical mill plus a new workshop, somewhere with extra space and less dank air because all the work so far has been going on in his basement.
Weaponized RCs are nothing new, with their real-life robot counterparts already serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Let’s not forget the destruction they’ve wrought in various Call of Duty multiplayer tournaments.
