Norton Core Router

After first being unveiled during CES 2017 earlier this month Norton has now opened up preorders for their new Norton Core router which is now available to preorder price to $200.

Norton Core has been designed to provide homes with a secure Wi-Fi router that protects your digital life while delivering the highest level of speed and performance, says Norton. Watch the teaser trailer below to learn more about its security features and design.

The Norton Core uses the Symantec global intelligence network and advanced machine learning to defend your home’s wireless network from malicious attack, malware, viruses and other Internet of Things security threats. As well as providing a very unique and minimalist design when compared to the rectangle boxes with sprouting aerials that have been released in the past. Norton explains a little more about its router and its specifications :

We set out to change WiFi forever. Our uncompromising vision: a wireless router that secures your digital life, while delivering the highest level of performance. The result is Norton Core. Core uses advanced machine learning and Symantec’s global intelligence network to defend your home WiFi—and every device connected to it—against malware, viruses, hackers and much more. Powerful, secure WiFi is now a thing.

4K streaming, you’ve met your match. Core is a performance powerhouse. With a 4×4 MU-MIMO foundation and ultrafast 802.11ac WiFi, Core is designed to achieve maximum throughput speeds of 2.5 Gbps1. Its innovative phased-array antenna design, combined with advanced beamforming, provides unbelievable coverage and range.

Norton’s industry leading software protects your PCs, laptops and smartphones from hackers and cybercriminals. But today’s connected homes, with smart TVs, Internet security cameras, WiFi thermostats and baby monitors, require something more. Through deep packet inspection, intrusion prevention, and more, Core defends your home at the network level. Core fends off cyber-threats before they can infiltrate your home and compromise your personal life.
