The 6-inch Nokia Lumia 1520 is without a doubt the best Windows Phone handset in the market, but it may not be the most suitable handset for many people due to its huge size.
Many flagship devices nowadays are followed by “mini” versions, and it seems Nokia Lumia 1520’s might be in works as well. According to a new report from China, the mini version of the Nokia Lumia 1520 is in Nokia’s pipeline, and is reportedly named Nokia Lumia 1520 V.
The handset carries most of the traits of the Nokia Lumia 1520, with a few changes: a smaller screen and a 14MP camera compared to 20MP found in the Nokia Lumia 1520.
Based on the rumor, Nokia Lumia 1520V is expected to feature a 4.3-inch display compared to the 6-inch display in the flagship. Surprisingly, it is rumored to boast a similar 1080p resolution.
The remaining specifications include 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage (there’s no expandable storage option), 3,000 mAh battery and wireless charging capabilities. There’s no confirmed news about the operating system, but the report mentions it may launch with Windows Phone 8.1 — something which I doubt.
The phone is rumored to see the daylight in April after Windows Phone 8.1 launch, and in case you don’t know, BUILD conference is scheduled for April.
Let’s just take this rumor with a lot of salt as there’s no official word from Nokia about any such handset. We’ve seen rumors that Nokia is planning to launch a few new devices later this year, but nothing is official until it comes from the Finnish Maker itself.
