As well as their new TV streaming service, Apple is also expected to release a new Apple TV set top box this year, the device may appear at WWDC in June.
According to a recent report, the new Apple TV will come with support for Full HD video like the existing version and not support for the latest 4K video.
The apparent reason that Apple have chosen not to support 4K video in their new Apple TV device is due to the lack of content for the format.
Streaming services like Netflix and Amazon both support 4K video, although the amount of content on these services that support 4k are limited and this is one of the reasons why Apple has decided not to support 4K in their latest device.
Apple is expected to reveal a new design for their Apple TV device and it is also rumored to come with more storage and support for apps and games.
