Apple are expected to launch a new Apple TV device and also launch a new TV streaming service later this year.
According to a recent report by re/code, Apple is asking the TV company’s to supply their own streams for the new Apple TV streaming service.
Apple has apparently asked the TV networks to organize the streams for the service and also cover the costs for these streams.
This is something that some of the TV networks already do with their own channels that are available on the current Apple TV, although this is done in a different way than the new TV service that Apple has planned.
The television companies are thinking about covering the costs and also providing the streams to Apple although nothing has been decided at the moment. Apple’s Eddy Cue has been leading the discussions with the television companies and has told them that Apple wants to concentrate on what it does best, selling hardware and software.
We are looking forward to seeing what this new TV streaming service is like and also looking forward to seeing the next generation Apple TV set top box, the new device may launch at WWDC in June.
